With tomorrow marking the five-year anniversary of Romney’s enactment of health care reform in Massachusetts, Democrats are taking every opportunity to point out that the law was a model for national health care reform. “Five years ago, Mitt Romney laid the foundation for President Obama's Affordable Care Act,” New Hampshire Democratic Party Chairman Ray Buckley said in a statement today. “Without Romney, it's hard to see how President Obama would have been able to provide quality, affordable health care for every American.
“Take a second today or tomorrow to thank Mitt Romney,” Buckley says.
Meanwhile, the Iowa Democratic Party is holding a news conference to "thank" Romney Tuesday in Des Moines.
While Romney has defended the Massachusetts health care law against attacks from his right flank, Democrats have used it as a rallying point to discredit the likely presidential candidate's standing within the GOP field.
